While we regretfully acknowledge that human error is unavoidable—both in our work and in the historic record—every effort has been made to ensure the information in these books is accurate and that we properly credited the photographs and our sources.


The following list identifies corrections and additions that have been brought to our attention since publication. This page will be updated as new information comes to light.

30 Byron Street (1)
p. 139: “Emma lived on the main floor and Kenneth on the second floor…” This was true in the 1940s, but before 1953, the entire house was used by Ken, his wife Marie, their four children, and Ken’s mother Emma.
p. 140: Under the photo of Ken Massel it should read that he was the owner from 1969 until 1984.
p. 140, footnote i: Linda is not one of the Massel children. She is the sister of Carol (Mackechnie) Massel.
Additional information regarding the property along the river form the service station to Shade Street: “At one time there was an apple tree, a chicken coop and a large garden. My father Ken later sold a portion of the land to the township as they wanted a pumping station there. The rest was green lawn . It was quite picturesque along the river with the view to the Shade St bridge.” (Fran Massel Godin, January 14, 2026)
351 Huron Street (2)
p. 333: John and Pamela Barker raised four sons at this address: Tim, Andy, Jonathan, and Adam. The child stripping wallpaper in the photo is actually Adam.
107 Jacob Street (3)
p. 389: Alan and Terri Taylor acquired the house in 1984.
Jacob Street Endnote 24 (4)
p. 509: 1976-1984 John and Pamela Barker. Additional information: they moved to this address when they were expecting their second child and moved to 351 Huron when expecting their third.
